I admit it. I just can't do it all. Not that you probably can't figure it out for yourselves by checking the dates of my blog posts. Again there has been a considerable time lapse between then and now. I will not apologise though. I have been photographing, learning, studying, practicing, researching, expanding my horizons and developing the art and craft that is photography.
As proof I offer you some of my favourites from this gap. I love them for my own reasons and not always because they are the best photos I have shot technically but they all have a story for me. That is one of the things I love about photography, not just what you see but what you don't.
Ok. Mondays' post totally took it out of me! I am still not sure if I
did the right thing. Blogger's remorse! I suppose I could take it back.
The two 'me's' had a few conversations during the week and the brave me
finally convinced the coward me to leave it there and not delete it.
I sat down and wrote a list of things to blog about thinking that
organisation and planning would overcome the trepidation but that
didn't really work either...........obviously, then Rachel left her
comment. Just the thing I needed to get back on the blogging wagon.Thanks.
I haven't updated my "365 Project" for a while so thought that would be a good place to start.
It too was sadly neglected for a little a while but I resolved to
hang in there and keep documenting the final year at home, even if we
didn't make it to exactly 365 before she leaves me for school shoes and
readers!
Here are a few 365 favourites
She is not exactly excited about this project anymore, so I am finding different ways to approach the reluctant subject.
Sometimes the strategy is to get her talking about something else,
Sometimes the strategy is to stalk her and catch her unawares........
And sometimes it's to focus on other things................
.....and sometimes its more about the memory than the image
Memories like the last first tooth.
I was over at Tracey Clarke's blog this morning - http://www.traceyclark.com/blog/2009/5/7/i-heart-home.html#comments (aka shutter sisters) where she reflects on blessings at home and in her garden.
It was exactly what I needed to formulate my thoughts and feelings this week.
It is winter here and time to prune and mulch, but for some reasons my crazy roses have decided to grace me with one more flush of gorgeous blooms before hibernating.
I felt so grateful that I had to photograph them. I grabbed my trusty macro extension tubes and set about capturing their unique beauty.
It has been a while since I have posted some images from my 365 Project.
The first image is one of my favourites of the year and I was honored to have it featured in the Shutter Sisters Daily Click Project.
These wonderful and inspirational ladies have just been awared the Grand Prize for the "Name Your Dream Assignment" photography contest. Congratulations to you!
The Wot Wot's is the latest children's show to come from the Academy Award winning team at Weta Workshop.
Spotty Wot and Dotty Wot are brother and sister aliens who have landed on earth at the zoo and are fascinated by our wildlife. It is a show all about the "joy of discovery"
I had the great pleasure in providing photographic coverage for the launch which was held at the Melbourne Zoo. It was a fantastic event with the best face painters I have ever seen. The kids loved the characters and the show, it hardly seemed fair to call it work!
Below are some images from the day

The face painters were absolutely astounding, fabulous and worked tirelessy all day
Filming a Wot Wot Promo for ABC for KIds. The show airs on ABC1 at 8:25am and on ABC2 at 12:25
My daughter - the snow leopard, flanked by Spotty Wot and Dotty Wot
My husband loves to drive, loves to go out on long drives.
My children thankfully have also learnt to love the drive.
I love aspects of the drive. I always take the camera to take photos of things we see.
In the past I would identify something worth stopping for. Since the last experiment with in car photography I have been seduced by the process and the possibility of results.
Like being on the open road there is something simultaneously freeing and intoxicating about it.
AFOOT and light-hearted I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose
