Had a great day on Saturday at the Australian Melbourne F1 Grand Prix covering the Roary Pit Zone and creator of Roary, Bob the Builder and Fifi, Keith Chapman at the race. Here are some of the photos of the day.

It has been a while since my last blog entry, because almost four weeks ago my computer was attacked by a nasty Trojan virus.
I have the latest anti virus software and diligently update the latest protection but it was still not enough to protect my computer from a particularly nasty form that even the latest updates couldn't protect me computer. Those in the know assure me that I was not alone but that did little to console me.
I had mostly everything backed up so actual files were not lost, but it is the worst nightmare to go through the whole process of setting everything up the way it was before. Programmes, plugins, actions, presets, etc. It is enraging to think that someone is sitting around with nothing better to do with their time that to write viruses and send them out onto innocent victims such as myself. I am now going to have to send more money on another external drive that will be an exact copy of my main drive so that next time I just unplug one and format and plug the other one in.If I ever got my hands on whom ever did this I would have a hard time restraining myself. Live and learn.
Consequently I am behind in all my work and have felt out of sorts.
Time to catch up.
I would not describe myself as a landscape photographer. Occasionally though I am drawn to photograph things irrespective of the 'genre'
One such occasion was on the way home from Canberra travelling through Gippsland. We were nearing the end of a long car journey as the sun began to set. The children were restless as was I. We just wanted to get home, but the sky was so spectacular that I was compelled to capture it, allbeit from the front seat through the windscreen. The idea actually apealled to me, bug splatter and all. In some of the images I used the strip of tinting that runs along the top of the windscreen as a sort of graduated filter. I was pleased with how the images turned out.

This simple portrait is a lovely image of my second daughter. It was processed with assistance from Jeff Ascough's action 'brown sugar'.

Here we are on Wednesday and I am only now posting last weeks favourite of 'A'. I am still very busy and time waits for no man or woman.
It was an easy pick this week. Just love this simple image, straightforward compositon and natural light from a window with a little texture.
Nick and Lauren got married in the middle of the state's heatwave. It reached 43 degrees and was one of the most physically challenging days I had ever shot in. They were troupers though and everyone involved in the wedding was a pleasure to work with.

This weeks favourite of my youngest is a reminder of the special properties that are contained within a tub if warm water. It can cures all that ails you.
Some of my favourite images of all time are pastels by Degas of women bathing. These masterly created images are rich in emotion and mood. I encourage anyone who has a chance to see the exhibition at the National Gallery in Canberra.
Last week I decided to stretch myself and shoot in less than ideal conditions at different times of the day.
This was one of the images that came out of that shoot
The final image was taken from my front porch the day after the worst bushfire tradgedy in the history of the state. The smoke in the air made for a spectacular sunset, but I couldn't help but think of all those people who had lost their homes and people they love. My thoughts and prayers are with them all.
I phototgraphed Adele's brothers wedding last year, so it was a real honour and privelege to be invited to photograph her wedding.

A little late but here are, not one, but two of my favourites from last week. Both very different images but I loved them equally and couldn't seperate them.
This one was an excericse in working fast in less than an ideal conditions to capture the moment.
'A' couldn't find a tshirt - or rather couldn't be bothered looking and became distracted by something on ABC kids. The question remains, plumber or electrician!
